The Sound of My Story
Saphira Joy is a Black Queer (LGBTQ) woman who lives in San Diego with her partner and their two cats, Soyeon and Nikko. The two of them love to nap in her booth whenever she is not working.
She's convinced they are secretly practicing after hours and probably keep an alias account somewhere, quietly building a following of their own.

Saphira comes from a creative family: Her dad was in a short lived boy band in the 80s, her mom wrote for the Houston Chronicle, and her grandpa played trumpet on tour with Gladys Knight. Both of her parents were Marines, so she was raised with a drive she couldn't shake if she tried, and honestly she wouldn't want to.
When she is not behind the mic, she is crocheting, singing karaoke with friends, or getting delightfully lost in lesser known tabletop RPGs, like Fabula Ultima. She loves catching local theatre, and she has a well earned talent for finding a stray sunbeam to nap in right alongside her cats.
She is a writer and a singer too, so she hears the music living inside a script before she ever steps up to the mic. She refuses to phone in a single take, because she believes the words someone trusted her with deserve nothing less than her full heart.

Voice acting has been her way back to herself. It's reconnected her with a world that holds so much light, and has reminded her that people are capable of wonderful, generous, surprising things.
She is grateful for everything this craft has taught her, and even more excited about everything still ahead.

“From the music they love, you shall know the texture of men’s souls.”
